ELIGIBILITY CHECK

Am I likely to be eligible?

Lenders use their own rules, so no website can tell you whether a loan will be approved. This check shows how much of your income your EMIs take, and how much room is left for a new one.

Atlanta Group is not a lender. The bank or NBFC decides on approval, rate, fees and terms. Approval is never guaranteed.

Check how much room you have for a new EMI

Fill in the first five boxes. Your numbers stay in your browser. Nothing is sent or saved.

Include a co-applicant's EMIs if you add their income. Enter 0 if none.

Lenders set their own limit. Choose what you could pay in a bad month, not the most a lender might allow.

Use the rate in a lender's offer or Key Fact Statement.

Optional: add a co-applicant, the amount you have in mind, or your spending

A spouse or parent applying with you.

We will show whether its EMI fits.

Rent, bills, school fees, SIPs and other regular costs.

Your results appear here once the first five boxes are filled.

This is an estimate from your own numbers, not an offer or a lender's decision. Each lender applies its own limits and also checks your credit record, job or business stability, age and, for a secured loan, the property.

How do lenders work out how much you can borrow?

Most lenders start with your income, not the loan. They take your monthly income, decide how much of it can safely go to EMIs, subtract the EMIs you already pay, and treat what is left as the most you can pay on a new loan. That EMI, at the lender's rate and over the tenure on offer, is then turned into a loan amount. The share of income they allow is often called FOIR, the fixed obligation to income ratio, and every lender sets its own. This calculator does the same sum with your numbers and your own limit.

What this check cannot tell you

It cannot tell you whether a loan will be approved. Lenders also look at your credit score and history, how long you have been in your job or business, your age at the end of the loan, the documents you can show and, for a home loan or a loan against property, the property's papers and value. Two people with the same income can be offered very different amounts. Treat the result as a starting point for a conversation, not an answer.

Ways to improve your eligibility

Close or pay down small loans and card dues, because every EMI you remove frees room for a new one. Add an earning co-applicant, such as a spouse or parent, where the loan allows it. Choose a longer tenure only if you accept the extra interest it brings. Check your credit report for errors before you apply, and avoid applying to several lenders at once. Our Personal Loan page and Home Loan page explain what each kind of lender looks at.

Frequently asked questions

What share of my income can go to EMIs?

There is no single answer. Lenders set their own limits, and they often allow a higher share for higher incomes. A limit a lender will accept is not the same as a share you can live with: leave room for household costs, savings and emergencies. If an EMI would only work in a good month, it is too high.

Why do different lenders offer different amounts?

Each lender uses its own rate, its own limit on how much of your income can go to EMIs, its own maximum tenure and its own view of your employer, business or city. Comparing two or three offers, with their Key Fact Statements, tells you more than any single calculator.

Does using this calculator affect my CIBIL score?

No. It runs on your device and nothing is sent to a lender or a credit bureau. Your score is affected only when a lender checks your report after you apply.

How is the maximum amount worked out for a loan against property?

Two limits apply, and the lower one decides. This calculator shows the first: what your income can repay. The second is the property: the lender values it and lends only a share of that value. A large property does not raise the amount if your income cannot carry the EMI, and a high income does not help if the property's value is the limit. Our Loan Against Property page explains how lenders value a property.

Can I use this for a home loan?

Yes, for the income side. For a home loan the property also sets a limit, because lenders fund only part of its value and you pay the rest yourself. Our Home Loan page explains both limits and the costs you need to arrange.

Is Atlanta Group a lender?

No. Atlanta Group is a financial solutions and loan facilitation company, in business since 2010. Loans are provided by our associated banks, NBFCs, housing finance companies and private finance providers, who decide on eligibility, approval, rates, fees and terms. We help you understand your options and guide your documents and application. Approval is never guaranteed.

Written by the Atlanta Group team, which has helped customers explore loan options since 2010. Last updated 3 November 2026. The calculator uses only the numbers you enter; we do not quote interest rates, limits or loan amounts because lender terms change. Confirm current terms and eligibility with the lender before you decide.
