Can I get a loan with a low CIBIL score? What options exist

It can be harder and costlier, but some lenders look at your whole profile, including income and current repayment record. No one can guarantee approval.

Why does the score matter?

Lenders use it to judge how reliably you have repaid. A low score raises their risk, so they may refuse, reduce the amount or charge more.

What options exist?

Some lenders consider a smaller amount, a co-applicant, a secured loan or private finance. Each has costs and risks, which we explain before you decide.

Is private finance safe?

It can be an alternative after a rejection, but it usually costs more. Check that you are dealing with a bank or an RBI-registered NBFC, and never pay to be guaranteed a loan.

What can I do first?

Get your report, check it for errors, clear overdue amounts and keep EMIs on time. If the report has a mistake, see CIBIL Report Rectification.
