LOAN CONSULTANT

Finding the right loan starts with the right guidance

Banks, NBFCs and private finance providers each have their own eligibility rules, rates and documents. An option that suits one applicant may not suit another. At Atlanta Group we help you understand your need, assess your profile and explore suitable options through our associated lending partners, and we stay with you through the process.

Atlanta Group is not a lender. The bank or NBFC decides on approval, rate, fees and terms. Approval is never guaranteed.

Our role
We begin by listening to your situation and what you need the funds to do. From our associated banks and NBFCs we identify, where available, two to three options that suit your profile and walk you through each one's terms, interest rate and tenure. A dedicated relationship manager supports you from your first call through to disbursement. Atlanta Group is not a lender. The bank or NBFC makes the final decision on every application.

What does a loan consultant do?

A loan consultant helps you work out which kind of loan suits your need, which lenders are likely to consider your profile, and what each offer will really cost, then helps you prepare and submit the application. A consultant does not lend money or approve loans: the bank or NBFC does. At Atlanta Group, which has done this work since 2010, we listen to your requirement, assess your profile, compare suitable options from our associated banks, NBFCs and private finance providers, and stay with you until the money is paid out. We charge you nothing for this, before or after your loan.

Loan consultant, loan agent, DSA or broker: what is the difference?

People use these words loosely. A DSA, or direct selling agent, works under an agreement with one or more lenders to bring them applications. "Loan agent" and "loan broker" are everyday words for much the same thing. "Consultant" or "advisor" usually means someone who looks at your case first and helps you choose among lenders. The label matters less than what the person actually does: no consultant, agent or DSA can approve your loan or set your rate. Only the lender can.

Applying yourself, through an app, or with a consultant

Applying directlyYou deal with one lender and see only that lender's product; useful if you already know which lender suits you
Using a loan appFast and convenient, but check that the app names the bank or NBFC behind it and read every charge before accepting
Working with a consultantSomeone compares options across lenders, checks your documents before submission and explains each offer
What stays the sameThe lender assesses you, decides on approval and sets the rate, whichever route you take

How does Atlanta Group work with you?

  1. Listening to your requirementWe start with the loan you need, how much, what for, whether you are salaried or self-employed, your income, existing EMIs, credit profile, any earlier applications and how urgent it is.
  2. Understanding your financial profileWe look at your income and its stability, your obligations, credit report, bank statements, business turnover or property, and the reasons for any past rejection.
  3. Identifying the right loan categoryPersonal, business, home or property, or a specific solution such as a balance transfer, top-up, debt consolidation or education loan.
  4. Shortlisting lenders and comparing optionsThe right loan is not necessarily the one offering the highest amount or the lowest EMI. It is the one whose terms, cost and repayment commitments make sense for your financial situation.
  5. Application planning and documentsWe tell you exactly what a salaried, self-employed or property-backed application needs and check it before submission.
  6. Submission and lender coordinationWe submit the application and coordinate the lender's questions with you.
  7. Lender assessmentThe lender checks your credit record, income, bank statements and liabilities, and for property loans the valuation and legal title. Atlanta Group facilitates the application and provides guidance; the final decision rests with the lending institution.
  8. Sanction and offer evaluationWe go through the amount, rate and how it is calculated, EMI, tenure, fees, insurance, prepayment terms and any special conditions with you. A sanction is not yet a disbursement.
  9. Disbursement and formalitiesWe follow up until the money reaches you, the seller, your business or your existing lender, as the loan requires.
  10. Dedicated manager and support afterwardsYour relationship manager stays your point of contact after the loan is paid out.

How long does it take?

It depends on the lender, the type of loan and how complete your documents are. Unsecured loans are generally quicker; home and property loans, complex profiles and incomplete documents can take longer. The timeline below is an indicative planning guide, not a guarantee. The lender decides, and we cannot promise a date.

Indicative timeline

Initial discussionSame day
Document collection and preliminary analysisAbout 1–2 working days after we receive your documents
Lender shortlisting and application preparationAbout 1–3 working days, depending on document readiness
Lender assessment and verificationAround 3–10 working days or more
Sanction and acceptanceDepends on the lender
DisbursalDepends on the lender and completion of formalities

What no honest loan consultant can promise

No consultant can guarantee approval, promise the lowest rate in the market, or sanction a loan, because those decisions belong to the lender. Be wary of anyone who says otherwise, or who claims to "represent" a bank when they only pass applications to it. What a good consultant can promise is a clear picture of your options, a well-prepared application and an honest explanation of every term.

How to spot a fake loan agent

Walk away if anyone asks for money before your loan is approved, promises approval that sounds too easy, asks for an OTP or for Aadhaar and PAN details on a link you cannot verify, cannot show a Key Fact Statement, or asks you to pay into an account that is not the lender's. Check that the lender is a bank or an NBFC registered with the Reserve Bank of India, report suspected fraud on RBI's Sachet portal or the national cybercrime helpline 1930, and never share an OTP with anyone.

How to compare loan offers

Put the offers side by side and look past the monthly EMI. Compare the interest rate and whether it is fixed or floating, the processing fee and other charges, any insurance added to the loan, the tenure, the charges for paying early, and the total amount you will repay. Ask each lender for its Key Fact Statement, which sets these out in a standard format.

How is the EMI calculated?

Your EMI depends on three things: the amount, the interest rate and the tenure. The standard formula is EMI = P x r x (1+r)^n divided by ((1+r)^n - 1), where P is the loan amount, r is the monthly interest rate and n is the number of monthly instalments. Our EMI Calculator lets you try different amounts and tenures before you speak to a lender.

Frequently asked questions

Is Atlanta Group a lender?

No. Atlanta Group is a financial solutions and loan facilitation company, in business since 2010. Loans are provided by our associated banks, NBFCs and private finance providers, who decide on eligibility, approval, rates, fees and terms. We help you understand your options and guide your documents and application.

Can you guarantee my loan will be approved?

No. Approval depends entirely on the lender's assessment of your profile and documents. What we can do is help you apply to lenders that suit your profile, with a complete application, which avoids many avoidable rejections.

Do I have to pay Atlanta Group for its help?

No. Atlanta Group charges you nothing, neither before your loan nor after it. The loan itself has costs, such as interest, the processing fee and any other charges, and those are set by the lender and shown in its Key Fact Statement. Be wary of anyone who asks you for money before your loan is approved.

How do I choose the right type of loan?

Start with what the money is for and how you will repay it. A short-term need suits a short loan; buying or improving property may suit a secured loan; several expensive EMIs may point to consolidation. We talk this through with you before any lender sees your file.

Can you help if my loan was rejected?

Yes. We first find out why, from the rejection letter, your credit report or the lender's feedback. Sometimes the fix is a different lender or loan type; sometimes it is adding a co-applicant, offering security, or correcting an error on your report before applying again.

Can you help if my CIBIL score is low?

We can look at your report with you, explain what lenders will see and identify lenders that may still consider your profile, often at a higher cost or with security. There is no guarantee, and sometimes the best advice is to improve the score first.

Do you help both salaried people and business owners?

Yes. Salaried applicants are assessed mainly on salary, employer and existing EMIs; business owners on income tax returns, bank statements, turnover and business history. We prepare each kind of application differently.

Will I have to deal with the bank myself?

Your relationship manager coordinates with the lender for you and keeps you updated. Some steps still need you in person or online, such as KYC verification, signing the agreement or a lender's visit, and we tell you about each one in advance.

Can you help with large loans?

Yes. We also work on larger requirements such as loans against property, business funding and balance transfers of big loans. These take more documents and longer checks, and we plan the application accordingly.

What should I do before applying for a loan?

Check your credit report and correct any errors, add up your existing EMIs, gather recent income documents and bank statements, and decide how much you can comfortably repay each month. Applying with one well-chosen lender is better than applying to many at once.

Is it safe to take a loan through an agent?

It can be, if the agent works with regulated lenders, asks for nothing before approval, and the loan agreement and Key Fact Statement come from the lender itself. Check the lender's name and registration, and never share an OTP.

Can I meet you at one of your offices?

Yes. Our offices see visitors by appointment, Monday to Saturday. Call +91 84470 44297 and your manager will book a time and tell you which documents to bring.

Written by the Atlanta Group team, which has helped people explore loan options since 2010. Last updated 4 November 2026. We do not quote interest rates or name lenders here because terms differ by lender and change over time. Confirm current terms with the lender before you decide.

Talk it through before you apply

Ask for a free consultation and a free check of your profile. We charge you nothing, before or after your loan. A member of our team will call you back within 1 hour, Monday to Saturday, 8:00 AM to 9:30 PM. This is an enquiry, not a loan application.
